"A place for everything, everything in its place."
Benjamin Franklin

This project was for a friend who wanted to freshen up her parents dated living room. They were working with a tight budget and had a few pieces they wanted to keep. This exercise confirms you can can work with what you have and incorporate a few new elements to transform a space.
This palette is all about texture, making these neutral hues anything but boring. It also serves to tone down the dark chocolate sofa. The dark steel table legs tie in with the wrought iron lamp and counterbalance the warmth of the textiles and wood.

Injecting colour and pattern doesn't have to bold and busy. This palette is a modern take on southwestern design. Light raw materials evoke a sandy terrain. The intricately patterned rug is toned down with stone grey blues and muted terracotta. The rich green chair takes it's cue from the cactus.
Earthy meets urban with moss green, warm wood tones, and taupes juxtaposed with steel and concrete.

"Less is more."
